Stroop· Intermediate

Goal

Identify the INK COLOR, not the word! Select the color the text is displayed in.

Rules

  • A color name appears written in a different ink color.
  • Select the INK COLOR of the text, not what the word says.
  • If you don't respond within the time limit, it counts as incorrect.

Don't read the word — focus only on the color. Consciously suppressing reading is the key skill.

The Stroop task (1935) is one of the most cited paradigms in cognitive psychology. It measures frontal lobe inhibitory control, and meta-analyses confirm that inhibitory control training effectively improves executive function.
