Minesweeper· Advanced

Goal

Reveal all safe cells on a board with hidden mines.

How to Play

  • In reveal mode, tap a cell to uncover it.
  • Switch to flag mode to mark suspected mines.
  • The number on a revealed cell shows the count of adjacent mines.

Numbers = Adjacent Mines

The number of flags around a cell must match its number exactly.

Reveal vs Flag

Flag cells you believe contain mines. Revealing a mine directly ends the game.

Completed Example

  • Tap a cell to reveal it. Numbers indicate how many of the 8 adjacent cells contain mines.
  • Place flags on cells you believe contain mines. Long-press or use flag mode.
  • When a number cell has the correct number of surrounding flags, tap it to reveal the remaining cells at once.
  • Revealing a mine ends the game. Reveal all safe cells to win.

Tip

  • Start from edges and corners — fewer adjacent cells means easier deduction.
  • The 1-1 pattern: two adjacent 1s in a row means only one side has a mine.
  • When unsure, place flags first to secure safe areas.

Minesweeper is an NP-complete problem combining logical deduction and probabilistic judgment, effectively training deductive reasoning and working memory.
